Medicinski rečnik (englesko-srpski i srpsko-engleski) obuhvata oko 40.000 odrednica oba jezika. Za sve odrednice u oba smera navedeni su neposredni ekvivalenti na drugom jeziku s neophodnim sinonimima i njihovim stilskim karakteristikama.
Uz engleske odrednice dat je fonetski izgovor, obuhvaćene su važnije skraćenice, eponimi, operativne i dijagnostičko-laboratorijske metode u medicinskoj nauci i struci. Mnoge odrednice obogaćene su novim značenjima, kolokacijama i idiomima koji se tek uvode u upotrebu, a dati su i rečenični primeri iz medicinskih udžbenika i časopisa.
Srpsko-engleski medicinski rečnik je prvi rečnik ove vrste u našoj sredini. Sakupljene su sve reči koje su zaboravljene i zapostavljene, kao i one koje se danas koriste u savremenoj medicini. Napravljen je pokušaj standardizacije srpske medicinske terminologije.
Uz rečnik su date i ilustracije najvažnijih telesnih sistema i dijagnostičkih tehnika s nazivima na oba jezika.
The medical dictionary (English-Serbian/Serbian-English) includes around 40,000 entries in both languages. For all entries, there are translation equivalents in the corresponding language with necessary synonyms and their stylistic features.
The English entries are followed by the phonetic transcription and involve important abbreviations, eponyms, and surgical, diagnostic and laboratory methods in medical science and the medical profession. Many entries are enriched with new meanings, collocations, and idioms that have recently come into usage. Sentence examples from medical textbooks and journals are also offered.
The Serbian-English medical dictionary is the first dictionary of its kind in our country. All the forgotten or neglected Serbian terms have been included, as well as those modern ones currently in use in medicine. An effort has been made to standardize the Serbian language of medicine.
The dictionary has illustrations of the major bodily systems and diagnostic techniques with terms in both languages.
